So, after going without the joys of the internet & my beloved computer for 2 weeks, I have come to definitely appreciate it all more.
The times my fingers ached to hold the smooth stylus of my Wacom , Daydreaming of mindwalking down the huge array of aisles in my Painter X program, Reading one of the hundreds (yes, HUNDREDS, :-) of books & magazines I have digitally stored....all these and more...were gone one day.
I was lying on my bed doing some surfing, when, Firefox refused to obey my orders...Cntrl+Alt+Delete (learned when I was a child from my dad & used too much ever since) failed to break the fox's tantrum. So, I turned off my computer. Hoping that a refreshing RAM dump might fix whatever was ailing my friend. I went to turn it on....nothing...the. a blank screen that popped up "Operating system not found". Ha Ha. No. Not happening. Turned it off again. On. New message..."Hard Disk not found. NO!!!!Off. On.Off.On.Offfonoffonoffonoffonoffon....as I was forced to see my screen mocking my futile efforts to "fix" whatever was the problem."Hard disk not found.
So I have a computer in the living room as well. I don't even know if I would CALL it a computer considering how old it is. Someone gave it too me a few months ago, & of course they didn't bother to mention that it was a Mac running OS 9(! I don't even know what model to tell you the truth, all i know is that It BARELY can get on the internet (if the sites I want to see are not flash based of course)& have kept it around only for that reason since my bf wants to learn how to use the net & i don't want him using my baby (I'm always on it!).
So anyways, I used this at least to find out that the problem of my particular brand's hard drive failing is pretty widespread (oh so that's why it was so cheap!) a& from researching a little more found out HP would replace it for free since it was only 5 months old. But all my data? Gone. Everything. because like you know if you have read my other post, is that backing up & being responsible is not one of the things am known for.
A few weeks of pretty much constant downloading, writing lists, & searching for serials & product codes later, I have most of my " necessary " stuff back. but I am also a hoarder, so I'm sure more will be coming. Next up, I think I need a TB or 2? :-) (for back up purposes only) honey? And a notebook cooler..., and why don't we just get a desktop too while we're at it? Now that I'm working we can afford it, Honey? sweetie?.....(evil laugh...)

*So this picture is one that I thankfully had uploaded to Picasa BEFORE the meltdown. I am learning how to tattoo, & am also taking alot of photos of textures to build up my morgue file. I just love textures,,,So this picture I think combines them both well. Drew the tattoo, scanned it into photoshop. Colored it using multiply so the line art still showed. Overlayed it with Brick. Oh yeah, & lots of level, hue, sat, ect, adjustment layers.

Posting & Hosting A GIF animation

This is one of my first tries at constructing a GIF animation picture. I was going for an old time feel to it.I used a lot of layers in this, especially for creating the look of the flames & them shooting up in between the lips.
My idea for the flames was those Universal Studios rides where the city is all broken up, gas lines are broken & flames are spurting through the air every few seconds."Plotting n Scheming since 1978" is original , but based on a conversation with Repos about what year we were "Bottled & Brewed" ( like beer, yes.Brewed=conceived & bottled=born) Please feel free to leave any comments. No spam, derogatory comments, or unfocused hate.
++++ I thought this would be easily uploaded to blogger using my Picasa installed on my desktop. Not to be so...I am bringing this up just in case anyone else is having a problem posting GIF animations. I thought it was something wrong in how i saved for web & devices in Photoshop, but after much searching using my trusty Google & Firefox (both tricked out using Stylish with enough extensions, plug-ins, & goodies to make my RAM squeal) I discovered that Blogger automatically converts your images to JPEG before upload. If I would have bothered to read anything before creating this Blog I would have probably known that, Oh well, the story of my life...
What I now needed I found, was a Image hosting service, somewhere online to keep my animating doodadads so when I want to post them I just type the code (HTML for websites) they give you for your picture after you upload it.Tinypic was what I used. I discovered though, AFTER trying & repeatedly failing, that I needed to check the box for "Video" in the type of media you are uploading. Otherwise the animating will not display. I really need to read directions FIRST!
